E.ON Gastransport is developing its network further on the basis of a transparent open season procedure starting in 2008.
The merger of the three market areas for high-calorific gas as of 1 October 2007 resulted in one of the largest entry/exit systems in Europe, and the free allocation of entry and exit capacities made it possible to set up a virtual trading point with very high liquidity.
To meet customer requirements and expectations concerning the further development of the market area, E.ON Gastransport is refining the network operated by it on the basis of an open season procedure. The resultant capacities will then - depending on the duration of the necessary planning and construction work - be made available to the market, presumably by 1 October 2011 at the earliest, provided that the necessary capacity expansion measures are economically viable.
